Drumstick the Cotton Candy Cockatrice by Darling-Poe
Drumstick the Cotton Candy Cockatrice
This is the first doll I've made with parts cast from resin! It's certainly been a fun learning experience.

It sits at about 7 inches high with a 7 1/2 inch wingspan. There is a wire running from the base of the head to the tail, so it can be posed a little!

If you’re interested in your own cockatrice in custom colors, I’ll probably be offering them at about $45 once I work the kinks out of the pattern and the wing molds (for some reason, only about half the wings cast on one side cure properly - the rest are perpetually sticky?)

OOAK Soft Bodied Art Doll - Chimera by Darling-Poe
OOAK Soft Bodied Art Doll - Chimera
~ FOR SALE ~

--

This might be the first time that an ambitious idea of mine turned out EXACTLY as I envisioned it~!

Greek mythology has fascinated me since the 3rd grade, and the chimera definitely stood out as a very unique and bizarre creature. While there’s been many interpretations of the monster through the years, I based this doll on the  design i saw first - a lion head next to a goat head, and a snake for a tail.

This chimera sits up at approximately 7 1/2 inches tall, and it’s tail is just as long. The tail has plastic armature inside it for posing, and the rest of the doll’s body is soft (with some sand in the bottom to keep it upright easier)

The heads, paws, and hooves were all hand sculpted from Sculpey oven bake clay, and while I may make other chimeras in the future, this one’s parts were never cast, so it’s truly one of a kind!

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Feel more than free to offer critiques or suggestions for future beasties I can make :>
