OOAK Soft Bodied Art Doll - Chimera by Darling-Poe
OOAK Soft Bodied Art Doll - Chimera
~ FOR SALE ~

--

This might be the first time that an ambitious idea of mine turned out EXACTLY as I envisioned it~!

Greek mythology has fascinated me since the 3rd grade, and the chimera definitely stood out as a very unique and bizarre creature. While there’s been many interpretations of the monster through the years, I based this doll on the  design i saw first - a lion head next to a goat head, and a snake for a tail.

This chimera sits up at approximately 7 1/2 inches tall, and it’s tail is just as long. The tail has plastic armature inside it for posing, and the rest of the doll’s body is soft (with some sand in the bottom to keep it upright easier)

The heads, paws, and hooves were all hand sculpted from Sculpey oven bake clay, and while I may make other chimeras in the future, this one’s parts were never cast, so it’s truly one of a kind!

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Feel more than free to offer critiques or suggestions for future beasties I can make :>

Soft Bodied Art Doll Prototype - Mr Grumbles by Darling-Poe
Soft Bodied Art Doll Prototype - Mr Grumbles
Well, I've had a blank head base and the frame work for clawed hands collecting dust on my shelf for almost two years, so I decided to do something with 'em!

Meet Mr. Grumbles - he has terrible posture and is in dire need of some coffee, but he's a pretty decent... Thing all in all!

He sits at about 6 1/2 inches tall, his head horns and paws are sculpey, his mane is shag fur, and his body is minky - rather cuddly for such a grumpy critter!

Once I perfect my technique, I might take on commissions for stuff like this!
